Short Story About Ramby Chiropractic

Dr. Lloyd Ramby D.C.
Chiropractor

I have been a doctor of chiropractic in the northeast Houston area for over 18 years. Upon graduating from Texas Chiropractic College in December of 96’, I opened our first clinic in Atascocita with my business partner at the time, Michael Davenport D.C. In 2012, we opened our clinic on FM 1960 in Huffman and have practiced there since. Angela and I live near Huffman on a 21 acre farm where we raise Brangus cattle and horses. We own a thoroughbred horse that is the nephew to Secretariat. We love the simple life and sometimes never leave home on weekends, just enjoying the peace and serenity of the country life. I’m often asked if I like being a chiropractor. The answer is no. I LOVE being a chiropractor! There is no other thrill like seeing two people carry a third person into my office and then seeing that same person walking out on his own a short time later. What other kind of job can offer that satisfaction? You may have seen our motto on our wall as you drove by our clinic, “Walk-ins and Crawl-ins Welcome”. Dr. Lloyd Ramby is currently retired and living in Crystal Beach, TX.

More About Us

How are my methods different than that of other chiropractors? I take a little different approach to treatment than most of the other chiropractors in the area. Not that my way is right or theirs is wrong, but as we develop our skills we all tend to find our own niche. I was a registered massage therapist prior to earning my degree in chiropractic, and while a massage therapist I sought out and underwent many deep tissue specialty techniques and training. I utilize many of the deep tissue techniques in my practice today. I perform a problem-specific deep tissue technique, focused on the problem area on every single patient. Many of you are reading this because someone told you about the techniques I use compared to the other chiropractors they have tried in the past. I would recommend that you have them share with you the experiences they have had in my clinic. As a warning, I should let you know that if you do not like deep tissue massage you should let me know prior to beginning treatment. I can use a lighter touch or no deep tissue at all if that’s what you prefer. The reason for the deep tissue is this: I can use a much lighter adjusting technique if I loosen the restrictive musculature first. Therefore, I can align your spine with a soft safe method that is just as effective, if not more effective.

Frequently Asked Questions

Chiropractic can assist you by working with you and your other health care professionals (M.D., and D.O.) by maintaining your spine in proper alignment. Every organ in the body is under some type of neurological (nerve) control, so does it not seem sensible that if nerve impulses do not get to the organ its function is going to be compromised?
The gentle correction of a subluxation manually or device to relieve the pressure on the nerves and thereby normalize proper function and optimize health.
1. Physical Traumas such as slips, falls, whiplash, repetitive motions, bad posture, back packs, and birth traumas (delivery, forceps, suction); 2. Emotional Stress such as grief, anger, fear and depression; 3. Chemical Imbalance such as increased alcohol use, drugs, environmental issues and poor diet can cause subluxations.
No. Some people may make their joints “pop” and think they’ve made an adjustment. Wrong! Damage can occur by “self manipulating” a joint with weakened muscles and ligaments. Adjustments are specific and require the skill of a professionally trained doctor of chiropractic to administer. Even your chiropractic doctor must consult a colleague to personally benefit from chiropractic care.
The consultation and examination are necessary to determine if chiropractic can help your condition. If not, you may be referred to another specialist who might be able to help. In any event, your health and happiness are our primary goal.
